Earth has gone through many disasters and changes.
Humanity is once again worshiping many other gods. All these idols fall within his plan for the end of days. Christianity has the single greatest following on the planet, with the most devout followers residing in Eden.
They plan on preparing the world to side with God for Armageddon. The people of eden will make those idols submit, by will or by force.
